I’ve noticed on my visits to New York City that during late at night when there isn’t much traffic on the streets, the police cars will sort of ‘blip’ their sirens only when going through intersections. So I would be laying in my bed and hear a lot of bwoop………….bwoop………… ….bwoop.

Is this just some sort of rule the NYPD have to follow to combat against contributing to late night noise pollution?

Stupid question, I know. But it’s been decades since I’ve bought a new car, and I just bought one. My former car was a used car and I think I waxed it all of 2 times in the 8 years I owned it. The paint still looks good.

Is waxing really necessary these days, other than to bring out the shine? Also, to bring out the beauty and shine of a car’s paint, what would be your recommended product, that hopefully involves minimal work?
A few of you have said I should wax to protect the clear coat. Isn’t the clear coat the protection for the paint? In essence you are saying I should put protection on the protection?
