		<description>You don&#039;t actually need special equipment on the car-- I bought a Saturn in MD, moved to CA and the car passed smog. I think the trick is that CA simply has stricter air quality standards than most states--I&#039;d expect that a relatively new BMW should be able to pass without difficulty, but you might want to check with the CA DMV.</description>
