Plain water is sufficient.

I find it easiest to use some car wash liquid with built in wax. Any kind will do.
But if you want to strip the wax completely, go with the dawn.

I use mothers or meguires, dawn actually will take the wax off the car.

You know everyone is gonna have an opinion. Did the Dawn hurt your last car?? I have a brand new Chevy P/U truck. You can go to Wal-Mart and pick out the expensive ones or you can use the cheap ones. I find the the cheaper brands do not last as long. The foam dies down to fast. You can use just water but with the soap and wax built into the cleaner.the dirt doesn’t stick on as much plus you are adding a little protection to your paint job.
