For exaple: movies that have life lessons or teach you something new.(in this case, Spongebob would not be an option) Even though it may not seem like it, DVD players in the car are very amusing to children as young as one and a half. Movies such as Baby Enstien, Barney, The Wiggles, ect. are very edcational for children of this age.(parent, trust me this will work if you have trouble with your todler on car rides) So to answer your question, DVD players in the car can be healthy for children if they watch the right movies. It's distracting to all other drivers on the road, and yes i can't say it doesn't keep the kids busy but whatever happened to actually talking too them and interacting with them instead of putting them in front of a television.
