I am really interested in their cars and I want to know a little bit more about them. If you own one, tell me if you like it or not and why, thanks.

The ones actually made by Suzuki are underappreciated gems, imo. The rebadged Daewoos that they also put out under the Suzuki badge are not so great.

Of the ones they actually build:

The (2006 and on) Grand Vitara – well screwed together, only real 4wd (with low range as well) in its class, very reliable according to reports. Not that good on fuel economy, however.

2007 XL7 – again, well put together, well reviewed and apparently reliable.

The new Swift – well screwed together, very reliable, economical, good looking, record selling in many territories (not available in the US)

SX4 – very new so no real reliability stats yet, but very well reviewed and selling well.

As mentioned previously, the Suzukis that aren’t as reliable are the rebranded Daewoos that they sold when they were part owned by GM. Those models include the Verona, Forenza and Reno. Not bad cars in their own right, but their quality just isn’t at the same level as real Suzukis. They’re being phased out in favour of home grown models.

I can tell you that the old Suzukis (real Suzukis made in Japan) are good. (Not the Daewoo type) Hopefully the Suzuki quality and philosophy will transfer to the New Suzukis which are much more international in flavor. The new SX4 (replaced Aerio) is a joint venture with Fiat and is assembled in Hungary and Japan (and apparently also India and Russia?). It looks like it has nice specs and lots of the most recent equipment. The new XL-7 is joint with General Motors. The vehicle platform and engine are GM design and the vehicle is assembled in Canada. it has lots of sister vehicles that are sold as GM. If you want to try a Suzuki i suggest you buy a 2-3 year old Aerio or XL-7 (or Grand Vitara – shorter XL-7). Actually prices are low because not being well known the re-sale value is low. You can get a lot of value for your money if you get a clean one.
