They are classics. It’s funny you said this because the other day, I asked my aunt, why is barbie still popular? Its so old
but barbie is barbie…it will never die off…its such an original kind of toy, as are matchbox cars…

They are originals, and let’s not forget Winney the Pooh who has already turned 100. Statistics show that Winney is the most popular pre school storybook.

well unlike toys made before.. they don’t have the lead and formalin and other deadly chemicals mixed with the toys they have right now…

I agree with the imagination factor. Please don’t forget trains in that category.

The toys that are doing well today are not just those that our parents had when they were a kid, but those that stayed popular. That is hard for a toy to do… Think of all the fad toys that you had as a kid, how many of them are still around?? Virtually None. The toy lines that adapted to the selling environment are those that have stuck around the longest.
It also has to do with the quality of the toys as well. They don’t break as often as some of the other toys, so as a kid, our parents were playing with them for years and years.. unlike those fad and poor quality toys that they all stopped playing with after a month or so. The same with hold true for our kids.
